Savoury french toast drizzled with lashings of chilli oil, topped high with crumbled feta, avocado and crunchy seasonings.
French Toast Ingredients
- 1 packet of Gluten Freedom Low Carb Goodness Hemp & Linseed Bread 4 eggs
- 1β4 cup milk of your choice
- Sea salt and cracked black pepper
- 3β4 cup grated parmesan cheese
To Serve
- Feta cheese
- Cherry tomatoes
- Fresh avocado
- Chilli oil, chilli flakes or crunchy chilli oil (in place of crunchy chilli oil we used a japanese crunchy seasoning which included sesame seeds, fried onion and fried onion)
Method
- In a large bowl combine the french toast ingredients with a whisk until well combined.
- Preheat a large frying pan over a medium to high temperature and add some butter or oil to grease it.
- When the frying pan is hot enough, work with one slice at a time, dip the slice of bread into the egg wash mixture until both sides are coated. Lift it up high and allow any excess egg wash to drip off the piece of bread and quickly transfer it to the frying pan.
- Pan fry the bread in the frying pan for a few minutes until golden and crispy, flip over and repeat the process with the underside. Transfer the bread to a wire rack whilst you cook the remainder of the batch.
- To serve, assemble your french toast on a large platter or plate, top with the serving ingredients and drizzle generously with chilli oil if you enjoy a little spice!
